“Before choosing a contractor to build our custom home in Los Gatos, we went to look at houses and admired some of the homes that Bill and Steven from William Young Masonry had done. We wanted to build a “mas”, which is a typical house from Provence and requires extensive masonry.
We went to France with Dennis and Chuck from D. Carlson Construction, Inc. and selected reclaimed roof tiles, five antique fireplaces, three stone fountains, two stone pillars, one outdoor stone window, all our stone window sills and lintels, our stone door frames and a stone balcony that we shipped by boat in three containers with other antique items. All the items had to be dismantled stone by stone for shipping.
Bill, Steven and their team did an outstanding job putting back together all the items like puzzles even though they only had photos to go by. Watching them carefully matching each stone and rebuilding each item was amazing. For the stone balcony, they only had a drawing to go by and built it beyond our expectations.
They also did the masonry of our entire house as well as numerous stone walls in our landscape and a beautiful outdoor barbecue. They even made custom stone mailboxes for us and our two neighbors.
Bill, Steven and their team not only have years of experience to draw from but also are very creative. They love what they do and it shows in the quality of their work. They are a delight to work with a “can do” and very positive and pleasant attitude.
